Winter Skincare Must-Haves

Hola Fashionistas.

Welcome to October’s collaboration with Ridgedale Center, in Wayzata, MN.  This months assignment was to share some winter must-haves with you, as we transition into colder months.

As you all know, cold weather can be very harsh on our skin.  It dries and is not as moisturized, and soft as it would in the summer.  Which is why we should take extra care of our skin during the winter.

Join me as I share with you some of my winter favorites.

First stop Sephora.

Sephora has an amazing assortment of skin care products, for all types of skin.  They also have products to fit any budget.  Best of all, Sephora has a wonderful return policy.  If you purchase something that didn’t work for you, or didn’t like, take it back to the store and they will gladly exchange it or refund you.

One of my winter beauty essentials, is a face mask.  My face dries badly during the winter, so I always stock up on face masks.  Not only do they hydrate your face, but they leave you feeling fresh and renewed.  Sephora has a great selection of these masks.  Each one has special ingredients that leaves your skin feeling and looking radiant during those freezing months.

This evening I tried The Bubble Mask, with a quick foaming formula to help detoxify your skin.

As soon as I applied it, it felt amazing on my face.  Nice and cool.  I left it on for 15 minutes.  When I removed it, my face was covered in a foam which I massaged into my skin and then I rinsed off.  My face was left feeling soft and with the perfect amount of moisture to it.

I also purchased the Freezing Mask.  This one is a hydrogel mask with an instant toning effect, which will help invigorate your skin.  The super ingredients in this one are extract of eucalyptus and menthol.  Can’t wait to try it.

Now comes another important one, lips.

Why is it that during the winter I struggle with my lips?  I am forever applying lip balm to keep them from getting dry and chapped.

As you can see, I’m not kidding when I tell you I LOVE Sephora Collection Lip Balm and Scrub and their Sephora Collection #Lipstories.

Let’s begin with the Lip Balm & Scrub.  I’ve tried both the Honey Lip Scrub, and the Rose Lip Scrub.

The scrubs are excellent.  They glide right on and the tiny sugar exfoliants soften and smooth your lips.  I also use the lip balms regularly.  My favorite is the coconut.  During those cold, dry days they keep your lips soft and smooth.  They truly help keep your lips nourished, and lipstick ready.  I also apply it before bed.

The Sephora Collection #Lipstories are perfection.  They are very pigmented, smooth and the creamy ones especially, keep your lips moisturized.  Best of all ladies, these lipsticks are only $8.00.  Available in about 56 shades. Give these a try.  I’ve been using them for about two years now.  They also have some cute nude colors.

My final stop was Lush.

I have to share that my daughter has been telling me to visit this store for about a year now, and for some reason I never got around to going.  Big mistake!

As soon as I walked in,  I was pleasantly greeted by Nikki.  I explained to her what I was looking to add to my winter skincare regime, and she took her time showing me and sampling some of their delicious items.

As you can see, I was sampling and smelling everything in the store.  I couldn’t get enough of it.

Shampoo Bars?  Did you even know?  Thank you, Nikki for the sample, can’t wait to try it.  Smells delicious.

I love my skin to glow, so I was in Massage Bar heaven.

These bars literally melt on your body.  Just glide them on your dry skin, and massage those oils and butter throughout your body.

Gives your skin a beautiful shine.  One of each, please!

I totally went over my budget.

I left with Massage Bars, Body Cream, Shampoo Bar, Shower Bar and a beautiful Shimmer Bar for the summer.

Couldn’t wait to get home and try all the products.

I began with the Massage Bars.

I chose Tender is the Night.  It has a soft creamy floral, and vanilla scent.  Perfect combination.  It smells lovely.

Glide it on and it melts right on to your dry skin.  Now just massage those oils in.

Leaves a lovely smooth, glow on your skin.  Not thick at all.

I’ll be using these Massage Bars all winter, along with the other items I purchased.

Bellas, beautiful, healthy skin is so important, and yes extra work during the winter months.  Try some of the goodies I shared today, along with your favorites to maintain your face, lips and body, hydrated, radiant, soft and smooth during these cold days ahead of us.
